Day one, again
Well, I'm going to try this blogging again....Christmas 2006 is in the history books and it was a good one, except today I'm down with some bug. Slept most of the day....feel like hit by a truck...oh well.
Now as the new year approaches the thoughts turn to the move to the Northland. A lot has to happen in the next six months. The item that worries me the most is selling the house in these times of a slow housing market. I must keep the faith though as everything else seems to be falling into place into making this move a reality.
I'm going to go for my repeat New Year's resolution, and that is not to start any new craft project until I use up all the supplies I have. Last year I made it until July, and the year before that until March. We shall see how this year goes. Of course I'll be stocking up between now and the end of the year :)
I knitted quite a bit this year for Christmas gifts, mostly small items, mittens, scarves, a couple pairs of clogs, etc.
If I were writing this a year from now, below is what I hope I could say:
Well, the move to Marcel is done! We are absolutely loving living at the cabin. So much peace. We are still settling in, but getting involved in some new things. We joined a bowling league and have found a new church. I go into the Community Center in Marcel on Saturday mornings and participate in a craft club.
We call all the kids every week and they are all doing great. Matt & Nicole's wedding was beautiful. Tommy's adjusting to college in Moorhead and John & Jeni are going strong. Aaron's about to begin law school in Minneapolis and he and Sarah are getting used to living in Minnesota.
Scott and I have consistently been loosing weight since we moved here - I think it has a lot to do with the healthy eating we are doing, the long walks and the extra physical work it takes to live here.
Cindy's found a new energy for her job now that she is working from home, the days are just flying by and she's implementing many new strategies into her work. My New Year's resolution lasted until September this year!!! Yipee.
Scott continues working at the bait shop, and he is very happy there. The money isn't great, but he likes it. What more could you ask for. He is considering getting his real estate license....he's picked up a few cabins he takes care of for security.
All and all, this is the dream come true we thought it would be.
